Pencil sketch Dr. Anthony Facui giving a victorian style Santa Claus the Covid-19 vaccine.

It's Christmastime!  I know that this year has been indescribable for many, and families are struggling.  One of the struggles we were unprepared for was how concerned our four-year-old would become about Santa Claus staying safe from COVID-19.  He was concerned about both having Santa bring the germs into our home, and for Santa's own personal safety from exposure on Christmas Eve.

When Dr. Anthony Fauci told children everywhere that he personally vaccinated Santa Claus, he brought hope to children everywhere. My son was so relieved, and for the first time since all of this began, he had a multi-day stretch of carefree, loving wonder.  Raising an incredible little boy with Autism presents unique challenges in our tiny family, and this news from Fauci cut through a large swath of his holiday anxiety.  I can't begin to express how grateful we were to see this, so I drew it instead.  Thank you, Dr. Fauci, for helping us feel safer this holiday season.  You provided compassion and comfort to one terrified little boy, and I will never forget how important this was for him to witness.

Handwritten, cursive signature says "pea flower tea" in lowercase letters. The flower is a small sketch of a bloom, instead of the word for "flower".
If an idea doesn't explode orgasms of bright sparks, cascading into and setting my own dark places alight, then I probably won't write about it.

Tell me something that moves you.
